A Message from Our Chair
It is with great pleasure that I am serving as Chair for the American Heart Association’s 2011 Wilmington Heart and Stroke Ball. The American Heart Association’s mission of “building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke” can only be achieved in partnership with businesses and communities it serves through outreach and fundraising events.
The 2011 Heart and Stroke Ball is excellent opportunity for our community to participate in raising funds to support the American Heart’s outreach efforts of research and education programs. Heart disease is the #1 killer of Americans and stroke is the third cause of death for Americans in the United States.
Our theme this year is Casino Royal. It promises to be an evening of fun among friends, community leadership, local businesses, and cardiovascular professionals, as we enjoy dinner, dancing, casino, raffles, and both silent and live auction! As always, you will have the opportunity to make a donation through the “Open Your Heart” portion of the program.
I chose to support the American Heart Association because of the positive impact they have made in our communities in helping to save lives and I hope you show your support by attending the Heart and Stroke Ball on March 5, 2011 at the Chase Center of the Riverfront. .
I look forward to seeing you at the event!
Lo Ann Thomas
